Antam Gold Prices Forecast to Surge During Ramadan
Antam gold prices are projected to rise during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period, driven by stronger seasonal demand and ongoing global geopolitical sentiment.
Commodity analyst Ibrahim Assuaibi noted that global gold prices recently declined but may rebound in the near term. The potential escalation involving the United States and Israel with Iran could fuel safe-haven demand, supporting higher gold prices.
“This situation could push gold prices higher and encourage people to buy precious metals,” Ibrahim told Kontan on Wednesday (Feb. 18, 2026).
He added that gold demand typically increases ahead of Ramadan and Eid celebrations. As an example, he pointed to long queues of buyers at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in recent days, highlighting heightened public interest in gold purchases.
According to Ibrahim, adopting an accumulation strategy when gold prices correct can be a smart move for both investors and the general public. He also emphasized that gold remains an ideal hedge instrument for long-term wealth preservation, prompting some people to shift assets from vehicles or consumptive goods into precious metals.
He forecasts that Antam gold prices during the fasting month and holiday season could potentially surpass Rp 3 million per gram, with the possibility of reaching Rp 3.2 million to Rp 3.3 million per gram.
Data from the Logam Mulia website showed that Antam gold prices on Wednesday (Feb. 18, 2026) increased by Rp 34,000 to Rp 2,912,000 per gram, after previously correcting to Rp 2,878,000 per gram.
This rise indicates the potential for a positive trend ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, periods when gold demand typically strengthens significantly.
